Tao Eternal
"Eternal Tao, Timeless Lacquer"
◈ Piece Name: "[The Cloud Mountain]" ◈
Individual ID: #[T024] — Only one in existence.
❖ ARTWORK DESCRIPTION
This artistic treasure draws inspiration from Chinese landscape painting, seamlessly blending traditional Daqi lacquer craft with eggshell inlay technique. The black matte lacquer resembles ink-dark mountain ranges—profound and understated; white eggshell fragments evoke drifting clouds—ethereal and graceful. Between black and white emerges a poetic vision of "cloud-wrapped mountains" from classical Chinese ink wash painting.
The black areas are created through repeated applications of natural Daqi lacquer, meticulously polished to achieve a warm matte finish that embodies the steadfast weight of mountain stone. The white cloud band comprises hundreds of carefully hand-applied eggshell fragments, each piece thoughtfully selected and arranged by master artisans to form naturally flowing mountain-cloud textures, like morning mist drifting through peaks.
Artistic Significance: Mountains represent stability and permanence; clouds symbolize change and fluidity. This artwork integrates the Eastern philosophy of balancing strength and grace within the gourd form—embodying both mountain's steadfastness and cloud's elegance, suggesting that life, like landscape, thrives through the harmony of firmness and flexibility.
❖ Botanical Perfection
Beneath the vibrant palette lies a 100% botanical heart. The interior is hand-sealed with food-safe Raw Urushi, a legendary lacquer tree sap that is naturally antibacterial, heat-resistant, and becomes more durable over centuries of use.
