Tao Eternal
"Eternal Tao, Timeless Lacquer"
◈ Piece Name: "[The Apple Serenity]" ◈
Individual ID: #[T040] — Only one in existence.
❖ ARTWORK DESCRIPTION
This artistic masterpiece draws inspiration from the apple, meticulously crafted using the traditional TuiGuang Daqi lacquer technique over 12-14 weeks of dedicated handwork. The warm coral-red natural lacquer is as inviting as a ripe apple; delicate golden speckles shimmer like sunlight on fruit skin. Through repeated polishing, the lacquer surface becomes mirror-smooth and lustrous, presenting a warm, jade-like texture.
TuiGuang is the pinnacle of traditional Chinese lacquer techniques, involving dozens of meticulous polishing sessions to achieve a mirror-like gloss. The overall color is rich and even, with profound luster, resembling a crystal-clear red apple. Every detail radiates sweetness and good fortune—a perfect crystallization of time and craftsmanship.
Design Symbolism: In Chinese, "apple" (苹果, píngguǒ) sounds like "peace" (平安, píng'ān), symbolizing safety, smooth sailing, and good fortune. Red represents passion, celebration, and good luck, signifying prosperity and joyful fulfillment in Chinese culture. The gourd's pronunciation echoes "prosperity and fortune," and combined with the apple's "peace" symbolism, it represents peaceful prosperity, sweet harmony, and a blessed life—signifying family harmony, career success, and joyful serenity.
❖ Botanical Perfection
Beneath the vibrant palette lies a 100% botanical heart. The interior is hand-sealed with food-safe Raw Urushi, a legendary lacquer tree sap that is naturally antibacterial, heat-resistant, and becomes more durable over centuries of use.
